About me
Hi, I'm Erin
Nice to meet ya!
I’m a creative (obviously). I’ve always been a dreamer, the kind who gets excited about colour palettes, clever wordplay, and turning big ideas into something beautiful. But somewhere along the way, between deadlines and doing things “the right way,” I lost touch with the fun of creating. This space is my way of finding joy in the creative things. A place to explore, experiment, and share whatever wild, wonderful ideas are brewing in my brain.
How did I get here? Well it’s a long story, and I can’t wait to share it with you.

My Creative Journey
One of my earliest creative memories takes me back to childhood — when my sister and I would dream up our own superhero characters, bring them to life with coloured pencils, carefully cut them out, and play with them like they were real action figures. Those were the days, pure imagination and endless fun.
As a teen, I picked up drawing again, this time sketching from artistic references that caught my eye and filling a scrapbook with my work (which I still have, by the way). But somewhere along the way, life happened. I put my pencils down while I tried to figure out what I wanted to do with my future, cue the angst, the overthinking, and a whole lot of second-guessing.
It took a while, but eventually, I found my way back to creativity — just not in the way I expected…
Forging a career path
After school, I studied Publishing at the University of Pretoria (I’m a bit of a bookworm, so it felt like a natural fit). After a long and often soul-crushing job hunt, I eventually found myself working as a Copywriter at a small marketing agency. Writing came naturally—I loved crafting messages that helped brands find their voice. But words alone weren’t enough. I constantly felt the itch to expand my creative toolkit, so I started teaching myself everything I could about graphic design. That curiosity turned into a skill, and that skill opened new doors. I’ve been in the marketing space ever since—only now, I get to create in all kinds of ways, across all kinds of mediums, and I wouldn’t have it any other way.
Finding passion in creativity
After nearly 15 years in the industry, I started to feel my creative spark flicker. I was stuck in a cycle—creating because I had to, not because I wanted to. It felt like I was just going through the motions. I wracked my brain trying to figure out how to reignite that passion, and that’s when I stumbled across digital art. As a mom to the coolest tiny human, I found myself captivated by the beautifully illustrated books we read together and the whimsical worlds in the shows he loved. Slowly, that old creative fire started to glow again.
So, I got myself an iPad, downloaded Procreate®, and gave myself permission to draw just for the joy of it—for me. No briefs. No deadlines. Just pure creative play. And honestly? I haven’t looked back since.
It took years to find my way back, but now art is a huge part of my life—and I’m finally in a place where I get to share what I’ve learned, create what I love, and have a whole lot of fun doing it.
